Hope Restoration Ministries – Dedication of the New Sanctuary

The story of Chris & Phindi is miraculous and inspiring.

They attended our Anointed Marriage course in Kempton Park organized by Sean & Carina Wells who were the pastors of Gateway Presbyterian Church.

Chris & Phindi had recently started their new church with all the challenges of church planting and were themselves struggling with health and marital issues.

Chris had grown up in the township in a poor family. He recalls “ There was no room in the house, so I slept under the kitchen table and would visit other homes to find food, times were hard.”

He had met Phindi and was really keen on her. She had gone to an evangelistic meeting held in a tent to find her. He responded to the message and gave his life to the Lord and felt a strong call to full time ministry.
However, growing up in the apartheid era in South Africa with all the mental and emotional stresses had brought huge challenges into their lives and marriage.

Chris likes to say “BUT GOD” and that is what happened. God met them on the Anointed Marriage course, washed them in His loving Mercy and transformed their lives.

We were privileged to be part of that and over the years we have walked together as spiritual parents and witnessed the hand and favour of God bless their lives, family and ministry to currently 7 churches and almost 20,000 people.

Their ministry now also includes People Matter Foundation, Devoted Citizen, school for children, Hope Alive Radio and many other community projects bringing hope and upliftment to communities all over South Africa.

It became essential to enlarge the campus to provide for the expansion and all the ministries and community projects.

So here we are 22 years later, dedicating the new campus and sanctuary to serve people even more effectively for the Glory of God.

We were so blessed to have our son Brett and his wife Janine with us for this special occasion together with their daughters Hope and Nkateko. This has surely been one of the highlights of our ministry.
